Victoria’s Secret Angels Lose Pregnancy Weight

Victoria’s Secret Angels Lose Pregnancy Weight
We will not stop admiring how great – even better than before – Miranda Kerr, Doutzen Kroes, Alessandra Ambrosio and Adriana Lima look after the birth of their children (and their kids are also our favorites!).
The head of Victoria’s Secret marketing says that “angels” have become “more beautiful than ever”, because, in his opinion, they have a special confidence now, they are committed and they know they are capable of anything. Of course, genetics, physical exercise in a gym, and a strict diet played an important role in weight loss and the girls’ changing.

Miranda Kerr

Perhaps, of all the mothers, Miranda Kerr benefited most. Her slender figure got feminine shapes, her movements became more graceful, and her smile became more radiant – not for nothing, after all, was she entrusted with the demonstration of a precious bra!

I was asked to do it after I gave birth. That was awesome. It’s such an honour.
The girl struggled with her extra pounds with the help of yoga, pilates, and strength training. And she deliberately chose the programs that she could run at home, in her living room:
I do have less time, but I do try to exercise every day. I exercise at home with my son playing around with his toys on the floor.
The model believes that watching the way she trains, Flynn, her rosy-cheeked and handsome son, will get used to the idea that sport is an essential part of daily routine. The same can be said about a healthy diet, of which Kerr is a follower.

As a rule, her breakfast consists of fresh fruit with yogurt, eggs, and rye bread with avocado. For midday lunch, she usually has a salad with tuna and green tea, while fish steak with vegetables (pumpkin is a priority here!), green salad, and tea are for dinner. It sounds, by the way, very appetizing!

Doutzen Kroes

Doutzen Kroes says that ABS (Abdominal – Back – Spine) strength training helped her return the usual shape:
Abs, abs, lots of ab exercises all the time.

In addition, she excludes carbohydrates from her diet before important events, replacing them with protein food (several times a day in small portions), and drinks fresh juices (no chemicals!). The result is obvious. And it can easily be seen on her body, of course.
The model is convinced that after the birth of the first baby, her body has changed, and she likes this metamorphosis:
I wish every woman can feel so sexy after birth. It’s your body but it’s also a feeling.
Despite the high fees, the Dane model firmly believes that the main thing is to stick to a regime. And if she has to work overtime, she may allow herself a few days of rest.
The beautiful blonde gladly takes Phyllon to the shooting with her, but only if it is not far away from home. Kroes says that the boy is too young to become a traveler.

Alessandra Ambrosio

Alessandra Ambrosio, who became a mother nearly three years ago, quickly gained the previous shape. Now, the “angelic” beauty is happy with her body, like never before:
I’m definitely more proud of my body now. Our bodies are changed as we get older, and I’m more conscious of it now. Now, I’m a woman doing the show, not a girl.

The young mother says that her preparation for the show begins a few weeks before it. In particular, she does not eat chocolate (though it is not always required of her). Recently, she does not have much time for sports, so she prefers to spend time with her daughter Anna, who, despite her young age, is a true fashion lover:
She loves dressing up, and there is always a lot of dress up here. There are wings – so much fun for her!

Adriana Lima

But Adriana Lima had to do her best (both literally and figuratively) more than others. A week before the very important display, the model had to start an extremely strict diet, which consisted of only water and special protein shakes. She also began to actively attend sports classes (twice a day!), boxing in particular.

The results were quite soon to come: some argue that the Brazilian model has become even “hotter”, while others criticize her for promoting anorexia.
Adriana says that she just has the same approach to many things, as athletes have, and she does not have to stick to this severe diet all the time! That is the way she prepares for the show. After the show, she again goes back to normal life and eats whatever she wants.
Judging by how elegant Lima currently is, she has not yet kept her word about eating everything she wants.

Perfect Breakfast for Active People

Perfect Breakfast for Active People
The scientists have always known that caffeine combined with carbohydrates can increase endurance. But only now they were able to prove how this combination affects the effectiveness of training.
A research team from Sheffield Hallam University asked eight volunteers to play three football games in order to assess the quality of the game. For the first time, the volunteers had a drink without caffeine. Before the second game, they were offered a caffeinated beverage, and before the third game they had a drink containing a mixture of caffeine and carbohydrates.
That last drink resulted in improving the volunteers’ performance during the game. Mayur Ranchordas, the author of the study, says that caffeine itself is able to improve one’s performance, but only for a short period of time. But adding carbohydrates can increase the endurance for more than an hour.

Forget the Reason You’ve Entered the Room

Forget the Reason You’ve Entered the Room
The researchers from the University of Notre Dame in Indiana have decided to study the well-known phenomenon occurring when a person forgets the reason why he or she entered the room. The researchers believe that the passage through the doorway impairs short-term memory.
To conduct the research, they had a series of experiments in virtual and real environments. During the first experiment in virtual reality, the volunteering students were offered to pack some items into boxes and either take them to another room, or move them indoors. After this, the experiment was repeated in the real world. In the third experiment, the packed objects were moved through several rooms, so that in the end they would be found in the same room where the experiment began.
It was found that in all cases the participants of the experiment found it more difficult to remember what was in the box, if they went to another room. The third experiment confirmed that the memory was affected by passing through the doorway, rather than by the differences in the environments where the packing took place and when it was needed to remember what was inside the box.
The leader of the study, Gabriel Radwanski, believes that entering or going out through a doorway is a barrier in the thinking processes, which delineates the episodes of activity and sends them to the “archive”.

British Midwife Delivered Her Own Baby
A British midwife had to deliver without assistance. The birth of her child began three weeks before the scheduled time. The incident occurred with Claire Clarke-Wood, a worker of Croydon University Hospital.

As reported by The Daily Mail, the midwife felt premature contractions a few hours after she went home from her work at hospital in the evening of December 10. According to the 28-year-old woman, it was the first birth, so she knew that the contractions would be long. The woman decided to wait, until they subsided.

Despite this fact, the frequency of the contractions continued to increase, and the pregnant woman decided to move to the bathroom. The woman’s relatives called the team of doctors. However, Clarke-Wood managed to give birth to a child before their arrival. She delivered the baby, using a small make-up mirror and towels.

The midwife gave birth to a daughter in the morning of December 11. The weight of the newborn girl was about three kilograms.

Clarke-Wood has been working as a midwife at Croydon University Hospital since 2008. According to the newly formed mother, she had assisted the delivery of thousands of women during the period of her work, and many of those women gave birth at home.

Walk Prevents You from Eating a Dessert
Professor Adrian Taylor of the University of Exeter found out that moderate physical activity, such as a 15-minute walk, allows us to reduce up to 50% in the consumption of chocolate. For many of us snacks is the way of coping with stress or boredom at work. Strolling helps to overcome this habit.

This statement has been confirmed by an experiment: 78 people who regularly ate chocolate at work received a number of tasks. People who walked to work ate about 15 grams of chocolate. The people who were deprived of exercise ate 28 grams in average. The difference in the complexity of tasks did not affect the amount of the consumed chocolate.

Earlier, the professor and her colleagues had proved that exercise can reduce the craving for chocolate.

The conclusion is as follows: in order not to overeat sweets, try walking in the fresh air, and the desire to eat a dessert will disappear!

Girl Has No Fear of Lions

Girl Has No Fear of Lions
While a visit to the wildest section of a zoo can be frightening for some kids, a New Zealand kid has proved to the Internet that “little” doesn’t necessarily mean “easily scared.” The video of her confronting a lion at the Wellington Zoo earned her the title of “the world’s littlest lion tamer.”
Naturally, there was a safety glass wall between Sofia Walker, 3, and the lion Malik, but that did nothing to diminish the ferocity with which the animal tried to get at the girl with his paws. It paused and then continued to strike at the glass making his anger manifest – yet failing to get the undaunted girl to cringe away from the sight.
The Wellington Zoo’s Paul Hatton explained that the threatening pawing was intended to show that Malik wasn’t going to share his breakfast with the girl.

VelaShape - Cellulite Treatment That Lasts

VelaShape - Cellulite Treatment That Lasts
FDA cleared VelaShape - a non invasive treatment that uses a combination of Bi-Polar Radiofrequency (RF), Infrared Light Energy, plus Vacuum and Mechanical Massage - can dramatically reduce cellulite.
A full Velashape treatment spans 4-6 sessions, spaced a week apart, and costs upwards of $400 / session.
After the last session, it takes about three months to see the final result of the treatment.
The results last several months in the case of patients who eat well and exercise regularly, and when you do need to come back, it is only for touch up treatment, not another 4-6 sessions.
Velashape works by delivering heat energy deep into the skin (dermis) without damaging the upper layer (epidermis). The device uses a combination of optical energies and bipolar RF to create a synergistic effect that allows for lower treatment levels of both the RF and the optical light, reducing the risk of side effects associated with each.
Velashape has vacuum and specially designed rollers for mechanical massage that smooth out the skin and facilitates safe and efficient heat energy delivery.
The heat energy delivered under the skin increases the metabolism of stored fat, stimulates lymphatic drainage and reduces or shrinks the size of the actual fat cells and fat chambers.
The net result is gradual smoothening of the skin's surface with a noticeable reduction in cellulite.
Precise heating ensures safe, effective, and fast treatment with no downtime.
Velashape was recently featured on Dr Oz.
